Psoriasis and Vitiligo
Psoriasis is a common skin condition that causes skin redness, irritation or scaly plaques to form on the skin. There are five main types of psoriasis and these may affect any or all parts of the skin. The goal of treatment with psoriasis is to avoid triggers, control your symptoms and prevent infection. The most commonly used form of treatment includes: topical creams, moisturizers, ointments or other prescriptions. Phototherapy is another option, and is a medical treatment that exposes the skin carefully to Ultra Violet light and/or laser. Severe psoriasis may need treatment with systemic injections or medications. To learn more or find out which option might be best for you, call and schedule an appointment with Gardner Dermatology & Med Spa. We can help you decide which treatment plan will work best for your condition.
Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes your skin to lose pigment (melanin) and to develop white, irregular shaped patches that spread with time. There is no cure for vitiligo. Treatment plans are designed to stop or slow the progression of depigmentation, and if you desire to return some color to the skin.
